about Alana

Alana started hairdressing in 2000 working in well known salons such as H20 Hair and Body and Chemistry for Hair. Completing her training in 2002, Alana at age 18 had the honour of being one of the youngest apprentices to become a qualified hairdresser. She then jumped at the opportunity to go overseas to work for Steiner, an international day spa company and was posted as a hair stylist on the luxury cruise ship, Splendour of the Seas. While visiting ports in the United Kingdom, Europe, the Mediterranean, America and the Caribbean, Alana's skills were refined working with international crew and clients.

After returning home in 2003, Alana joined the team at Bossy Hair, Windsor. She went on to win the in house company award the the Highest Retail and Colourist of 2004. She also entered the American Crew, Face Off, for 2004 and 2005.

In 2006, while working at Jaffa's Hair Design, Alana entered the Redkin competition - The Face. She again entered the Face Off competition and won a ticket to the National Finals which was held in February 2007 as one of two finalists for Queensland.

Alana worked at Fadi's Hair until the end of 2006, where she enjoyed styling many well known Brisbane faces as well as some of the contestants and also the winner of the Miss University Pageant.

In 2007, Alana set up Hair by Popular Demand, she endeavours to bring quality fashion hairdressing to the homes and businesses of many.

In more recent times, Alana has been recruited for the Kevin Murphy education team to teach the latest trends, techniques, and products to Queensland hairdressers.

Alana has big plans for Hair by Popular Demand, and knows her success will continue. She plans to work more on editorial and fashion shoots in the future
